1984	Martin Color-Fi was established.
2000	The company was acquired by investment firm Dimeling, Schreiber & Park.
2001	Martin Color-Fi began concentrating on specialty custom-color fibers.
2003	Formed Fiber Technologies (FFT) acquired Martin Color-Fi and renamed the business Color-Fi.
2004	FFT consolidated its Fiber Extrusion, Inc., and Color-Fi operations at the Color-Fi flagship plant in Sumter, South Carolina. FFT has since invested several million dollars in machinery and equipment upgrades at the Sumter facility. Today, Color-Fi is a successful manufacturer with a strong future. Adapting to market changes, developing innovative products, and continuing investment in technologies are all part of our strategy to maintain our competitive advantage.

We support associates' continuous skills development through company-paid education and training programs.

The average Color-Fi associate has been with the company over 10 years, making our workforce a very cohesive and experienced manufacturing group we are very proud of.

What differentiates Color-Fi is our ability to produce specialty solution-dyed fibers from wide-spec recycled materials. Furthermore, all our products are 100% NAFTA-originating, an important consideration in the Country of Origin labeling of products for the automotive and other industries.

We Recycle! Color-Fi processes over 50 million pounds of fiber each year, almost entirely from post-industrial and post-consumer recycled PET (polyester) resins. This represents a cost savings for our customers and an environmental benefit for everyone.

Community

Color-Fi is an active participant in the greater Sumter community. Our associates volunteer in youth programs, sport teams, and a wide variety of charitable organizations and activities that enrich our community.

In 2005 and 2006, the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce named Color-Fi "Manufacturer of the Year" in recognition of the company's role in the business community.
